A Natural Headache Buster

Did you know that there are at least 150 classifications of headaches?  Can you believe it?

But tension headaches are the most common.  About 28 million Americans experience migraines.  There are a number of common food triggers.  They include aspartame, nitrites, MSG, alcohol and caffeine.

The best approach varies for each individual but I have a great little herb that is really good at headaches.  Feverfew!  This herb was first tested in a study of migraine sufferers in 1985.  The results were published in the British Medical Journal and proved that with consistent use (for at least a month) migraines were prevented or the intensity and the frequency lessened.  Of course the degree of relief varied among individuals.

In Herbal Medicine, Feverfew has been used for centuries to prevent and treat all types of headaches.  It has a blood thinning effect, so if you take a blood thinner, the dose may need to be adjusted by your doctor.  Follow the package directions as dosages vary for different types of extracts or capsules.

But that’s not all folks…. Feverfew is a great pain reliever for Osteoarthritis too.  Again, follow the package directions.  It seems to relieve the inflammatory response in the body and therefore the pain.  Pretty nifty, right?

So, try something a little new that is really very old and more natural and in the order of things.  Try an herb….
